Microsoft Planning Big Expansion in India, Will Invest USD 3 Billion, Give Training in AI Skills

in india Microsoft has Azure Regions in multiple locations. Nadella said that the company has also created capacity with Reliance Jio. Microsoft has more than 60 Azure regions and more than 300 data centers around the world. Nadella said that the company is seeing great growth in India. The rate of growth of technology in the country is astonishing. Microsoft plans to train about one crore people in AI related skills in the next five years. Last year the company had launched the ADVANTA(I)GE India programme. Its target was to provide training in AI skills to about 20 lakh people this year. The company has trained 24 lakh people for this program before the stipulated period. About 65 percent of the participants in this training were women and about 74 percent of the participants were from tier two and three cities.
Accenture, one of the big IT companies, has also planned to do a large number of technology related hiring in the country. Out of approximately 7.7 lakh international workers of this company, more than three lakh are Indians. Recently, Julie Sweet, Chief Executive Officer of Accenture, said, “We are hiring primarily in India. There is really no change in our hiring strategy.” He had said that Accenture is strengthening its position in Generative AI.
